Sharing with a friend

My friend originally bought the ameda pump and used it several times a day for eight months, later she gave it to me and used it 5 to 8 times a day for 9 months, so I have a pretty good ideas of the pros and cons of this pump, so here they are:

Pros: good price! good portability (I just used a small black bag). Very durable. Simple to use.

Cons: Noisy. The motor is quite loud and it beeps at times during the cycle. Parts are hard to find / expensive. I've had to replace various parts and could only find them on the ameda website, where you have to pay shipping charges even for tiny parts. This made them overly expensive.

Overall, it's a great pump for a fair price.

Super happy

I've tried everything of single, manual hand pumps to hospital grade pumps and this pump is the best breast pump out there for the money. The value is just exceptional! It has good suction and cycle features and I love how you're not "forced" into buying a special carrying case for it. My only complaint is that the motor is louder than other motors but other than that, this is a great pump for any mom.

Terrific Pump!

I compared the ameda "purely yours' breast pump to the medela breast pump and chose this one mostly because the price was so much better. I'm very happy with my decision. The pump is comfortable and it only takes about 10 minutes for me to get the milk I need. Several of my friends also have this pump and really like it as well. Highly recommended!

Motor Died after 4 months

I bought the ameda pump when I had to return to work and pumped three times a day, five days a week. After 4 months the motor died and would not work. I've since bought an Advant breast pump, but I'm not very happy with that one either!
